I travel on this highway frequently. I have seen the buses drive as if they are riding some 2 wheeler. Changing lanes without signal and abruptly. Stopping in the right lane and then suddenly turning left to pickup passengers. Merging without looking at vehicles fron behind or right. Buses are a menace. I agree they are vital for commute to many people but at the same time they should drive properly.

THE Reason of accident is not only truck driver but also the bus driver, who stops the bus in middle. after hitting the bus has gone for side. but before driver has stopped the bus in middle only, u can get it clear by seeing the image of truck where it stands.

Why there are no passenger pickup ramps on highways!!!! Highways are for driving and not for picking passengers. Learn some thing from other countries while planning the projects rather than just throwing tax payers money. It is clear none of the policy makers are learning from foreign trips, just going on foreign trips for fun again using our money.

Vincent we are in a hurry to catch up with other nations so we build highways but sadly we miss out on safety issues...because our politicians as well as general public give least importance to human life...

This is due to the poor planning by NHAI. If the bus stop to pick/ passengers on Road what the truck driver can do. ? Our super trained bus drivers or any drivers on Road use the hazard lights while stopping on the road. I have faced this kind of similar situations while driving on our highways. Neither NHAI nor RTO are bothered to make the road safer and we Indians never follow the traffic rules unless the authorities force us.

QU:'The bus had stopped for the passengers to get down when the truck hit it from behind.'
    UQ:
Did the bus stopped middle of the road later moved to side? since truck can be seen middle of the road?
mostly bus drivers stop in middle of the road without giving any value for passengers life, priority is earning some bucks faster at the cost of ordinary peoples life.
