Kundapur, Jul 9: A man allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself at Bisinapare, Jadkal near Kollur late night on Friday, July 8.

Jarish Joseph (34) from Bisinapare is the person deceased.

Jarish Joseph was an agriculturist and stayed with his parents. He was scheduled to get married next month. He was known to be a soft spoken person and did not have enmity with anyone, sources said. Jarish was the 6th among 12 children of Kevin Joseph and Mary.

The body was found by a rickshaw driver on Saturday morning near the roadside at Bisinapare. Going by the position of the gun near the body, it is suspected that he pointed the gun at his mouth and pressed the trigger to end his life.

In a suicide note found in his pocket, he stated that he alone was responsible for his death, and that he was taking the extreme step as he was haunted by a mistake he had committed 15 years ago. "Forgive me for the mistake I committed 15 years ago. No one should feel sad. Death alone is the punishment for the sin I committed. Forgive me," the death note stated.

Forensic experts, Kundapur DySP Manjunath Shetty, Byndoor circle inspector Sudarshan, Kollur station inspector and other police personnel visited the place.

Byndoor MLA Gopal Poojary visited the house of the deceased and offered condolences to the bereaved family.

To harbor guilt feelings for 15 long years, definitely he was suffering from a debilitating mental disorder like obsessive compulsive disorder which can lead to suicidal ideation due to being guilty even for small mistakes committed years ago.

I have experienced the pangs of OCD, it literally destroys your life, pray no one should ever get it, only one who suffers will ever know the pain and trauma of this disorder as it also brings intense anxiety, panic attacks, and depression!

very sad and tragic. It Looks very doubtful about his suicide as per his note. One who wants to commit suicide for his mistakes he done 15years back (no mention)would commit it at home ,but not at road side.Second, where was Pistole placed?one who commit suicides has no time to place it near Body or near Hand might fall just somewhere about.Death note might have forced by someone to write by him and also shoot by himself. very mysterious.Police should have investigated properly and made DNA from Pistole .what mistake could have been done without anyones notice or without writing?May his Soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to his Family.

Must be a kind person who is haunted by introspection of the past, or depressed because of medical/psychiatric reasons, barring acts of foulplay. Sad indeed. RIP...

Police should scan phone call details. Suicide is not a answer. if somebody made any mistake, we can ask forgiveness, if it is not working then we can go for police.

But Deepak these politicians never think what they did in the past or doing now is a mistake. It is simply part of their profession..(if you are talking about looting public funds..bribery etc)they wont commit suicide..

Suresh Shett's comments may be true at the best. Suicide note might be written by the killer to en route the investigation in different way.

    Very strange...
Even if he commit suicide he will not die near road side. Death note could be forcefully written by someone and could be fake..police need to investigate..
