Mangaluru, Jul 9: As part of the investigation into the suicide of DySP M K Ganapati, additional director general of police (ADGP) of CID Pratap Reddy on Saturday July 9 visited the city to gather information.

Ganapati, who was DySP in the IGP (western range) office in Mangaluru, hanged himself in a lodge at Madkeri on July 7. Before commiting suicide, in a TV interview, he named minister K J George, Lokayukta IGP Pranab Mohanty and state intelligence ADGP A M Prasad as being responsible if anything happened to him.

Speaking to reporters after holding a meeting with CID IGP Hemant Nimbalkar and city police commissioner Chandra Sekhar at the IGP office in Mangaluru, Pratap Reddy said, "The case has already been transferred to the CID and we took up the probe yesterday (Friday July 8). The IGP of CID will be camping in Kodagu and investigation is progressing under his supervision.

"M K Ganapati was DySP in IGP office in Mangaluru and he also stayed here. Hence we have come here to gather information," he said.

Asked if the police have found any proofs or clues, he said, "We have found several leads. We are investigating the case from all angles."

Asked when the report was expected to be submitted, he declined to give a deadline. "We cannot say that now. All I can say is investigation is on."

On whether he would be visiting Ganapati's family, he said, "Yes, we will visit the family as per their convenience."

Regarding reports that Ganapati's father had denied giving a written complaint to the police, "CID will investigate everything. We will take everyone into consideration and investigate the case from all angles."

BJP is main culprit and all the leaders who forced this act need to be hanged. When BJP was ruling they used these police force to do all evil things and this police officer end up with depression and suicide. BJP leaders must answer and must take all responsible for it.

Why the Sanghis not protesting the suicide of Kallappa? He was also a DySp. rank. Because they know that their own CHELAS were involved in kidnap and extortion. What a Hypocrisy.

Rightly said. Innocent nuns, women and children were beaten up at Kulshekar and that curse was haunting him. Why BJP is trying to support him is that the same BJP supported him during the church attacks.

DySP M K Ganapati's interview sounds as if he is a primary school kid. Absolutely depressed and confused. Police force needs counselling centres as they are human beings working under stress.

CID or CBI there is nothing going to happen unless you solve the RTI activist murder which is more important compared to a suicide act.
A RTI activist means someone who want find out truth and he is killed just in the middle of the city.
All these days tons of tax payers money is spent on arresting the prime accused.

CID Will conclude this case on the ground of natural death. After some time this case will be referred to CBI and the result will be same. Death note and other evidences are already destroyed. No hopes of justice...
