Dharwad: 'Inspector faced action for false case against my son' - CM

Daijiworld Media Network - Dharwad (SP)

Dharwad, Jul 10: "How can a police officer who files baseless complaint against my son be spared?" questioned chief minister, Siddaramaiah.

During the assembly election held in May 2013, a complaint had been registered against several Congress activists including Siddaramaiah's son, Rakesh, for causing disturbances within the limits of Nazarbad police station falling under Varuna assembly constituency, which is the home constituency of Siddaramaiah. The then police inspector of Nazarbad, G N Mohan, had filed the complaint. Mohan, who is functioning in a non-executive post at Karwar now, had said that he has been undergoing depression and harassment because of this case. Mohan had also been suspended for a long period since the day the chief minister took over charge. Reports about these things had appeared in the media.

When the chief minister reached the city on way to Haveri on Saturday, the media persons questioned him about the predicament faced by the police officer for doing his duty. In strong words, Siddu questioned as to what else does the police officer expect in return for filing false complaint. "He had filed complaint saying that Rakesh, Dr Mahadeva Prasad, and others had caused disturbances. My son has nothing do with this," he stated. Still, he guessed that Mohan's suspension and transfer would have been backed by some other reasons.

In the meanwhile, when approached by the media, inspector Mohan refused to pass any comment. Mohan at present has been working as inspector in the DCRB record branch at Karwar.

Why these Ministers sons involve in criminal and other cases and because of their fathers holding Ministers and other posts interfere in unnecessary events. The Ministers should warn their sons not to involve or interfere in unwanted matters.

Hon'ble Chief Minister of Karnataka, need to answer a query, whether the action is only against the Police Officer who has taken action against his son or is it a policy decision of the Govt., If so in how many cases the Govt has taken action so far against Police Officers for filing false complaint or case closed with a B Report. The High profile politicians ensure closure of the case with B Report and later claim as false case to harass sincere and honest police Officers. The sad part is the senior Police Officers toe the line of politicians and take action against their juniors instead of supporting them. This tendency among the senior Officers in the Police dept is the main cause for the recent development in the Police dept.
