Mangaluru, Jul 11: The Barke police on Monday July 11 arrested three young men on charges of drug peddling and seized ganja from them.

The accused are Sridhar (20) from Bijapur, Dhanush S Kumar (26) from Kodikal, and Johnson Selva Kumar.

Sridhar is a BCom student while Dhanush works for shipping company and Johnson is a final year degree student.

On receiving credible information that the trio was selling ganja near MG Road, the Barke police on the direction of higher officers raided the spot and arrested the accused.

The police also seized 18 packets of ganja weighing 250 grams.

Soures said that during interrogation, the accused revealed that they had been purchasing ganja from one Rahim in Bunder, and selling the same for a higher price in the city.

Rahim alias Kindi, who faces about four or five cases, is presently absconding.

It is learnt that the three accused have been involved in ganja peddling for the past two or three years.

They have been booked under arcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Act.
