Yadagiri: Filmy style kidnap of additional DC raises concerns

Yadagiri, Jul 12: In a strange incident, deputy director of food and civil supplies department of the district, Arun Kumar Sangavi, who also happens to be the in-charge additional deputy commissioner of the district, was kidnapped in filmy style. He was abducted when he had gone to inspect government godown on Monday July 11.

On Monday evening, Sangavi had gone to visit stock in the government godown. Four persons, who called him outside the building, forcibly made him to sit inside a car. They then drove away the car but dropped him off near Rukmapura on the outskirts of Surpur. Sangavi then returned to the office of the district deputy commissioner here, and narrated the sequence of events to deputy commissioner, Manoj Jain.

Sangavi told the media persons that four persons who came in a car instructed him to get seated in the car and then offloaded him near Rukmapura. He did not like to elaborate further. However, his movements gave rise to doubts among the people that he could have been physically assaulted.

District superintendent of police, Vinayak Patil, said that the incident would be investigated. He added that in the meantime, police security has been provided to the officer.

    We reduced quantity of anti-nationals. Now other's are safe..who are conducting amarnath yatra. If they feel that what done is wrong..let them protest once again.

    When I said 'How many people killed in J&K', I didnt include the killed terrorist and the stone pelting protesters.
    By any standards Karnataka is much safer than J&K, because we kicked out your saffron goons from power.
