Imaad Shah to turn director

Mumbai, Jul 13 (IANS): Actor Imaad Shah, who will next be seen on screen in "M Cream", has plans to turn director. He says he has two scripts ready already.

Imaad told IANS: "My plan is to direct my own film and I am sure my experience as an actor and my experience in music will help me when I turn director. I have two scripts ready and I am busy developing them."

"I am trying to get producers and studios on board and it's a fun process. Once my first film is ready, I will only be directing films," he said.

Asked how has his journey been in the industry so far, Imaad, the son of veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak Shah, said: "It has been interesting, but not as much as I would have liked it. It's an ongoing process."

"I have grown as a person and an actor because of theatre. There is always a pressure on you, but I use this pressure to better myself as an actor. I feel one should focus on their work and my focus is to grow with every film."

"M Cream" has won awards and mentions at various film festivals. Presented by PVR Pictures, it releases in cinemas on July 22.

The film also features Ira Dubey, Auritra Ghosh and Raaghav Chanana, whose characters set out on a road trip to the mountains of Himachal Pradesh in their quest for a magical form of the drug hashish known as M Cream.
