Mangaluru, Jul 14: After the success of Tulu serial 'Ajane', Tomcat productions in association with Daijiworld TV 24x7 is all set to launch another serial, this time in Konkani. The muhurat for 'Hi Vatt Sorgachi Nhoi' (This Path does Not Lead to Heaven) was held at producer Jeevan's D'Souza residence here on Thursday July 14.

Phelomena, Louisa Veigas and Jane D'Souza initiated the shooting for the serial by rolling the camera. The clapperboard was sounded by Walter Nandalike, founder of Daijiworld Group.

Jeevan D'Souza, producer of the serial welcomed the gathering and said, "The new serial will have 15 episodes of 40 minutes each and is expected to be telecast in September. The storyline has both comedy and a social message."

Addressing the gathering, Walter Nandalike said, "One of the best qualities in Jeevan D'Souza is his commitment. Prior to this he had produced another Tulu serial 'Ajane' and he delivered a serial of quality as promised. Now yet again he has come forward to produce this Konkani serial. We cannot make a Konkani serial from a commercial point of view and expect profits from it. He has given an opportunity to fresh artistes and it is up to them to exhibit their talents. I urge all of them to keep up their commitment and deliver their best. I thank and congratulate Jeevan for producing this Konkani serial."

Ronald Nazareth, director of Daijiworld Weekly said, "At the outset I would like to appreciate Jeevan. He has taken this as a challenge and has come forward to produce this Konkani serial. I am pretty sure that all the artistes will work in tandem with him as a team and bring out the best results. I wish all of them great success."

Vincy Pinto, marketing manager of Daijiworld Weekly said, "I have known Jeevan from a long time. He had expressed his wish to produce a serial and when I asked him why he wanted to produce a serial his instant reply was that he wanted to provide a stage for the upcoming artistes. People from smaller towns move to Mumbai or Bengaluru for an opportunity to work in films. But Jeevan has created an opportunity for all the talents here in the city itself. I wish and congratulate him."

Artistes Cyril and Jeevan Vas also thanked Jeevan D'Souza and Daijiworld for providing them an opportunity to exhibit their talents.

    Dear Jeevan and your team...
The title itself I am sure will draw the audience to your serial. Knowing you, I am sure there will be humour in large doses, topped with a message. Cheers! Best wishes from Sabita, Prajwal, and Nester too.

Dear Jeevan D'Souza, Congrats. Certainly commencement of a Serial of this kind in Konkani is a yeomen service to viewers of Konkani channels. And Daijiworld is now come of age to undertake this challenge after having a mass appeal from our Language population around the world. We wish you all the very best. So as Walter Nandalike too to succeed in the venture. Only the question is why restrict this Serial to only 15 episodes? Thank you.
