Kasargod: School bus faces danger - locals come to rescue

Daijiworld Media Network - Kasargod (SP)

Kasargod, Jul 15: A school bus carrying students to school faced danger when crossing over the railway tracks at Hosangady railway gate in the district on Thursday July 14 morning.

The bus was carrying around 60 students to a private school in Manjeshwar from the direction of Anekal when the incident occurred. The locals joined together and pushed the bus out of the danger spot.

The railway gate had opened after the Thiruvananthapuram - Mangaluru express train passed through the gate on Thursday morning. The bus moved ahead but got stuck on the tracks because of some technical problems. Seeing that the bus was facing peril, locals joined together and pushed it further away from the tracks to safety. Within a few minutes, a goods train passed through the gate.

Building over bridges for railway crossing is union governments responsibility. Both previous and current central govt just announces they will build overbridges during budget session, but in reality nothing.
