Chikkamagaluru, Jul 18: Two men died while trying to take a selfie at Alekan waterfalls in Charmady Ghat here on Monday July 18.
Hanumanthappa (34) and Nagabhushan (38), both from Chitradurga district, fell to their deaths.
The two, who had set out on a tour along with some others, visited Subramanya, Dharmasthala and surrounding places. Thereafter, they went to Alekan waterfalls. While trying to take a selfie, they both slipped and fell into the water, sources said.
Basavaraj, Nagesh and Honnesh had accompanied them to the falls.
The bodies were later retrieved.
It may be recalled that a few months ago, a youth from Mudigere had lost his life at this very spot while trying to take a selfie. In another incident two months ago, a youth had sustained injuries.
