Mangaluru, Jul 19: District Congress Seva Dal president H M Ashraf has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a man, his wife and their minor daughter at Balmatta here on Monday July 18.
It is learnt that the family had planned to go out in the evening, and just as they drove out of their apartment premises, Ashraf allegedly blocked their car by parking his own vehicle.
On being told to move and give way, Ashraf grew angry and allegedly assaulted the couple and their daughter.
The police then arrived at the spot and arrested Ashraf.
He has been charged under POCSO Act for assaulting the minor girl.
Sources said that the woman and her daughter have been admitted to hospital.
Bunder police have registered a case.
