In 70s and 80s millions of Mangaloreans went to gulf and western countries for better prospects. Now they are retiring and wanted to settle down in their native place. Many fear Mangalore is not safe place now simply because of these goondas. If the police clean up the city from crimes, I am sure those retirees will come down and settle in Mangalore with their savings, know-how, experience and new ideas which are good for the economy and betterment of the society.

I am really proud of this initiative by the Commissioner.

As many as nine persons have been booked under this Act by the city police since January 15, 2015.

This Act was passed to corner these goons from the streets and keep the civilians safe from the hostile. Finally there are like minded people who are taking the matter into consideration to clean the city of these blood mongers

Excellent initiative by Congress government. Its high time that all troublemakers are locked up in order to keep maintain peace in the city.

If bjp too would have acted tough on such goons then perhaps Mangalore would have been a peaceful place.

Why Police has to explain that much to public... Just say he is all round criminal.....? Just like in cricket when the player is good in batting, bowling, etc than he is all rounder.

Prevention is better than cure. Keep all goons and trouble makers under watch and arrest them if needed. We cannot wait till they commit some criminal activities like murder etc. Law and order will improve if we take these steps.

Well done. If the similar action / law had been implemented some years back, all the uneducated men who make their livelihood on goondagiri and by using association name would not dare to do any kind of rowdyism, moral policing and rioting, hence people could have lived peacefully in D.K.
