Media Release

Dubai, Jul 19: Karnataka Sports and Cultural Club in association with Dubai Heath Authority (DHA) and Community Development Authority (CDA) conducted a blood donation campaign at Al Ghubaiba metro station.

The campaign was inaugurated at 9.00 am by Karnataka Sports & Cultural Club president Ashraf Hassan. With four registration counters there were six volunteer groups to highlight the public on the awareness, necessity and benefits of blood donation.

Volunteers with their enthusiastic and competent approach promoted their noble cause at the exit / entry door of Al Ghubaiba Metro station, bus station, Carrefour and traffic signals. From 9.00 am till 1.00 pm there was an unprecedented queue of participation for blood donation.

The very good positive response from the community exceeded the club's expectations as about hundred plus donors had registered, despite waiting in a long queue. The systematic arrangements, efforts and encouragement shown by the DHA to collect blood from the donors was most appreciable.

Complimentary cups and caps, snacks and soft drinks were distributed to the blood donors. Pamphlets signifying the importance and benefits of blood donation were also distributed.

At the concluding speech, the club Manager Mohammad Shafi said, “The blood donation campaign had a remarkable response from the public which is highly commendable and we are very glad to have served the community by collaborating with Dubai Health Authority and Community Development Authority.”
