Tom Sizemore arrested for reportedly beating up girlfriend


Los Angeles, Jul 20 (IANS): Actor Tom Sizemore, who is known for his roles in films as "Saving Private Ryan" and "Black Hawk Down", has been arrested for reported domestic violence.

Sizmore, who was arrested on Tuesday was taken into custody around 9:40 A.M. after Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) received multiple calls on helpline 911 about a woman screaming.

When cops arrived, the woman who is later identified as the actor's girlfriend said she and Sizemore got into an argument that turned physical. She claimed that he struck her in the head and face. Police reportedly saw visible injuries but she refused medical attention, reports tmz.com.

The 54-year-old actor-producer was being held on $50,000 bail. His manager Charles Lago declined to comment on his recent arrest.

This isn't the first time the actor is involved in domestic violence.

In 2003, he was sentenced to six months in jail for beating up then-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss. He has also been arrested several times on drug and probation violations. He was imprisoned from August 2007 to January 2009 for violating his probation in a drug-related case.

Just two months ago, He was involved in an accident on the set of USA Network's new series "Shooter" which killed a stunt worker. While filming a scene for the show, Tom was supposed to run into an awaiting Cadillac SUV and stay there until the scene ended, but the stunt coordinator told him to pull out, so he drove the car in reverse and ran over the stuntman.
