Abducted priest Fr Toms's photo appears on Facebook

Thiruvananthapuram, July 20 (DHNS): More than four months after Catholic priest Fr Tom Uzhunnalil was abducted by unidentified gunmen in the Republic of Yemen, a message was posted from his Facebook handle along with a photograph of the priest.

The photograph of what appears to be a bearded, visibly harried Fr Tom was posted on Tuesday along with a message – “Fr Tom’s entreaty will be uploaded soon …!”

Meanwhile, an undated video showing a blindfolded, bearded man being roughed up started doing the rounds on social media with the title “Video of Fr Tom being beaten up”. The video appears to have been uploaded from a Twitter handle. While veracity of the photograph and the video is yet to be ascertained, a member of the priest’s family said they “looked real”.

The priest’s friends and family members have responded to the photograph and video with prayers.

We will pray for his safety return. It is really sad to see. May god give guidance to all and stop evil practice. These terrorists will get a tough life ahead for kidnapping such a peaceful man who has dedicated his life in the path of God.
Whichever religion he follows his vision is towards god

Please don't believe this information naively. There are so many cyber nasty elements today who doctor such videos and photos. We have to only wait and see what the real situation is. Hope the government of India is in touch with those really involved.

The Priest does not deserve to be treated like this. Prayers that come from the bottom of the heart coupled with strong actions from the governments nationally & internationally and in particular the OIC and other Islamic organization that will put pressure on his captors in Yemen will bring Fr. Tom home.

There is dire need for help from all sides, Yemen is not an Island and they interact with the people of the world and only then we see all of the above then all this beatings and torment that he has to undergo will STOP and for sure he will be home sooner, in good health and proper state of mind.
