Bengaluru, Jul 21: Former union minister and veteran Congress leader, Jaffer Sharief, released the work, 'Prabuddha' written by Dr Anand Kumar on leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, at a function held on Wednesday July 20 at Press Club here. The function was organized by Dr B R Ambedkar Publications.

Speaking on the occasion, Sharief said that Indira Gandhi had dreamed of making a person from Dalit community the chief minister of Karnataka. "I repeatedly say that a Dalit should rise to the post of the chief minister of Karnataka. In 1978, Indira Gandhi had promised to make the late Basavalingappa the state chief minister. However, because of political upheavals, he could not be made the chief minister. This can be achieved at least now. Parameshwar does not lack in administrative acumen or experience to become the chief minister. If those who come from other parties can become chief ministers, why Parameshwar, who grew within the Congress, should not become one? I was not intimidated even by a strong chief minister like Devaraj Urs. Do you think I am afraid of the current chief minister?" he questioned.

State home minister, Dr G Parameshwar, speaking on the occasion, said that Kharge happens to be his ideal. Noting that Kharge had lost the chance to become chief minister a number of times, he appreciated the fact that he never cribbed about it.

    Janardhana Poojary would be the right choice for CM's post. If he is made CM we will have atleast 15 flyovers in Mangalore City to ease the traffic and a lot of manufacturing industries which will create jobs. Poojary has a great vision for Mangalore.

    If people are insignificant they are ignored and nobody speaks about them, but the very fact that for 24/7 Shrimati Sonia Gandhi and Shri Rahul Gandhi revolve around your minds and thoughts suggests that they are very important people in your lives and you and all chaddies shiver at hearing their names. You people suffer from Gandhi phobia which is incurable. Secondly it is for the Congress party to decide on its leaders and elect them or sack them and not chaddies. The party and its supporters and members will decide who is fit and who is not. It is better that you advice your leaders to sack those in your party who suffer from verbal diarrhea, just like that clown Dayashankar from UP, before your house of cards collapses . You say you don't know some of the names that I have given. My advice to you is read papers, follow the news and upgrade your knowledge. Will serve you in the long run, because after Gujarat, Punjab and UP many rats who are singing praises of your party today will abandon ship when they see it sinking.

    ..I dont really understand the logic of this Dalit CM, Dalit minister, Minority ministers..How can say that if Parameshwar was made CM, it will be upliftment of all Dalits!! and same in the case of Minorities..leaders just to get party ticket, post use this tag otherwise what they do for community!!..why they cant do as a MLA eventhough they get crores of Govt fund!!..now a days one who is poor, politically marginalised is Dalit..only Brahmins fit into this category..their population is less, no reservation, they are not vote bank, no one will give them ticket, politically less represented (only, OBC,SC/ST,Minorities dominating now)..actually time ripe to get rid of this Congress Govt..

    Jaffer Sharief's role is always to set a cat among pigeons.His only interest is life is an election ticket for his family members, his relatives etc. As railway minister Karnataka got the least while Tamilnadu grabbed the most with all the lines electrified.
