Mangaluru, Jul 21: In a heart-breaking incident, a two-year-old girl was found abandoned in the passage of a building at Bejai here on Thursday July 21.

The girl was found wrapped in a bedsheet at a commercial complex in Bejai.

The toddler was found by some shopkeepers when they came for work on Thursday morning. They immediately informed White Doves NGO.

White Doves team led by Corrine Rasquinha rushed to the spot and along with the police, rescued the toddler and shifted her to Wenlock hospital.

Speaking to daijiworld, Corrine said that the child had several injury marks on her body, indicating that she might have been physically abused.

There is no information yet on who abandoned her or why.

After treatment at Wenlock hospital, the girl would be rehabilitated at White Doves, Corrine said.

Kadri police have registered a case.

    It is heart breaking to see incidents such as this and many more in India. To all of you irrespective of our belief and religion, who have responded to this story as true caring loving human beings, I admire you for your empathy and kind words. I encourage every one of you to pledge and send whatever money you can afford to White Dove and I will match the total amount received by White Dove by those who have responded to this child. I would like to thank Daijiworld for publishing the story and for mentioning about White Doves. Kind words and deeds are important, let us lend a hand to Ms. Rasquinha's efforts,

    REQUESTING ALL PEOPLE ONCE AGAIN THERE IS POSSIBILITY OF BEGGING RACKET. TIME AND AGAIN I AM REQUESTING PLS DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO CHILDREN. THE BEGGING RACKET WILL BRING MORE CHILDREN KIDNAPPED OR OTHERWISE. THIS IS ONLY WAY TO STOP NUISANCE. EVERY INDIAN SHOULD STOP GIVING MONEY TO CHILDREN SO THAT MAFIA WILL NOT GET MONEY. IF POSSIBLE TO REHABILITATE THE CHILDREN.

    @Praveen,
    I don't agree that only the Christians are the missionaries of love and peace. All human beings have compassion for others but they simply don't act on it for various reasons. They need to come out of the closet like White Dove members. Look at the smile on lady police officer cheering the child.

    Thank God she was found by kind people before some sick pervert found her. Parents should think million times before abandoning children, not all are good, we have sadist people too living among us. May White Doves NGO continue to be a blessing for all. Request readers to contribute to this NGO, only with donations and contributions can they help the underprivileged and the needy.

    May be the child is the victim of parents regular discords, arguments & fights. She has cute features and looks to be from affordable family. (not a destitute).
    I hope someone will come forward to adopt her legally and brighten her future with Love, care and all the attention like other kids who enjoy under their own parents. God bless this child.

    The family that has done this to 2 year old child is one of the shameful incident. It is disgusting to note that humanity has reached such a level that even god will be ashamed. Poverty, casteism and religion has destroyed this country completely. It is important that this child provided good quality of life.

    Everything about the child from her physical appearance to her dress and the bed-sheet she was wrapped in seems to indicate that she was well cared for.

    Probably abandoned by a mother concerned for her child's safety.

    Better off abandoned than probably (assumption) being slaughtered by her father.

    Pity the mother who had to undertake such a heart breaking task.
