Kundapur, Jul 21: The skeletal remains of missing lovers were found in a forest at Marvi in Vandaru near here on Wednesday, July 20.

Babi, a married woman with three boys, and Rama, an unmarried man went missing on the same day a few months back. People from the village had searched for them in vain. It was suspected that both of them had left the village after news spread that they were into illicit relationship.

Two separate missing complaints were registered at Shankaranarayana police station. But the police did not achieve any lead.

When some villagers went to fetch some leaves from the nearby forest on Wednesday, they found a rope hanging from the tree. They also found clothes and skeletal remains of two persons beneath the tree. On the basis of earrings, toe rings and clothes, it is suspected that one of the skeletons belonged to Babi and the other to Rama.

A case stands registered at Shankaranarayana police station.
