Mangaluru, Jul 24: City police raided district prison during early hours of Sunday, July 24.
The team raided the prison included two DCPs Shantharaju and Sanjeev Patil, some ACPs , many inspectors from police stations and several personnel from police, KSRP and CRP.
Heavy police presence was seen in and around the prison during the raid which lasted for many hours.
The raid began at 4.0 0 am. Police also took canine squad and metal detectors with them.
Speaking to Daijiworld, DCP Shantharaju said that it was a routine raid conducted by district jail authorities and Mangaluru city police and it was not done with any specific information. He said that the police seized two mobile phones and two SIM cards in the raid.
