Kasargod: 21-year-old youth drowns in pond while bathing with friends

Kasargod, Jul 24: A young man lost his life when he was having bath in a pond with his friends on Sunday, July 24 at Manya, Neerchal near here.

Shiyaz (21) from Eriyal is the person deceased.


As per details, a group friends played football and went for bath in the pond after the match was over. The pond was full of water. When Shiyaz was in danger, his friends tried their best to rescue him in vain.

The fire brigade which arrived later retrieved the body with the help from locals.

A case stands registered at Vidyanagar police station.

    Mr. PCC kadri, my aim is to save life of so many who die bcoz they donot know how to swim.s to pay donation, let them pay a few bucks for learning swimming also.Parents have lakhs of rupee s to pay donation, let them pay a few bucks for learning swimming also. I dont care if he is a common man

    A very sad incident which should not have happened. A young man lost his precious live after playing football with his friends. I think he must have got exhausted after playing and went straight to the pond which was deep after the heavy rains. May his soul rest in eternal peace and sympathies to his loved ones.

    make swimming compulsory for all from 1st standard itself. keep it a subject of PT period.if there is no swimming pool around, take them weekly once to hotel motimahal mangalore or valley view manipal, where there is coach and life guard.
