Mangaluru: Four suspects arrested relating to murder in Padil

Mangaluru, July 25: CCB police have arrested four suspects relating to the recent murder of Ganesh Acharya in Padil.

The arrested persons are, Umashankar (39) from Padil Alape, Shashiraj (30) from Kannur, Nithin Kumar from Veeranagara and Alwyn Sequeira (25) from Padil.

The dead body of Ganesh Acharya was found in a well on July 20. There were marks of injury on the body and the brother of the deceased in his police complaint had expressed suspicion with regard to the death. The Police Commissioner in view of the developments had constituted police teams including CCB to nab the suspects.

CCB Police which started investigations collecting definite information of the murder suspects arrested the four suspects near Kankanady railway station on July 23 at 4.30 pm. The suspects on questioning have confessed that they had conducted deadly assault on late Ganesh Acharya.

Police said that the suspects said that they killed Ganesh Acharya as he was hurling insults and using abusive language with the father of accused Umashankar.

The accused have been handed over to the Mangaluru rural police station for further action.

Mangaluru CCB unit inspector Sunil Y Naik, PSI Shamsunder and staff participated in the operation under guidance from DCP and direction from police commissioner.

    On an average each murder/assult minimum 4 to 6 persons are arrested that means 100 incident if reported a year minimum 400 to 600 persons are sent to jail, our jail capacity is maximum 2000 inmates in that case we need another 3 to 4 new jail. Tax payers money is wasted in this way to ffed this rogues

    RIP Ganesh!!!

    Murders and gang wars are rising in our city. This is a sad state of affairs.

    However the accused in this case have been arrested and hope the family of Ganesh get justice.
