Bantwal: Boy, girl from different religions move about - police intervene

Daijiworld Media Network - Bantwal (SP)

Bantwal, Jul 28: A male student and his female friend, both of whom came from different religious backgrounds, moved about in B C Road together. As this gave rise to tense moments, the police summoned them to the police station. Their parents were then contacted, and the concerned were allowed to go after issuing warning.

As per information gathered, both of them belong to Mudigere. While the boy happens to be a student of an engineering college, the girl is a PU student at Mangaluru. It is said that both know each other well as they studied in the same high school at Mudigere.

The girl had visited Mudigere on Saturday. On Wednesday, she reportedly reached Ujire along with her friend, Salman, in a van. From Ujire, they reached B C Road by a private bus.

The girl claimed that she was going to Mangaluru to collect certificate from school. Some local Hindu organizations expressed the view that this was a part of Love Jihad operation.

After he came to know about the incident, local police circle inspector, B K Manjaiah, personally handled the issue and settled it amicably. Station house officer of the town police station, Nandakumar, said that he had issued stern warning to the parents of the students.

As an adult every individual has a right to make their own decision. It is very surprising that based on some goons whims and fancies the police is taking action and warning these youngsters. It looks like the police have no better work than to get involved in such matters. The first thing to be done was to arrest these goons and put them behind bars.

Love jihad is very popular in neighboring state of Kerala (Kerala is gone case) and now it is spreading in our state too like wild fire & need to take immediate action. Don't take this lightly considering the latest situation of conversion to a certain religion & missing persons which is a fact.

After having read all the comments, i have a very frank opinion. As of now, views are divided on the basis of whether or not love jihad exists. Honestly speaking it does, IN EVERY RELIGION in different forms. Fanatics and extremists hid behind the curtain of religion and do socially unacceptable things. And it will take another millennium for our society to bifurcate the difference. Anti-social elements are everywhere. BUT. never Generalize, never Stereotype.Just think, how can a bunch of fools represent such a vast religion? Two people from different religions can fall in love without the intention of religious motive, two souls can come together without realizing the social consequences. That is what love is. We somehow fail to understand this. It's high time we think ,think without prejudice!

In reality, people from different faith can move together. It has to be females moving with females and males moving with males only. Females should not move with males from any community until marriage and so is it with males unless they are relatives.

Shanker, move on where, how very convenient , you suggest that we move on without bringing the perpetrators of such serious crimes like church attack, pub attack, ganging up on minorities to justice. How very skewed is our judicial system , we were let down by everybody, including the police, the cops & the judiciary. Grave injustice was accorded to us. We have always worked to the betterment of society , with our hospitals, schools, Defence & always treating everybody with the respect & love irrespective of their cast & religion , All to no vail. How very shameful. to be treated so very badly , The only agenda had by the previous Govt(B.J.P) was to inflict as much pain as possible on the minorities

Why no stern warning was not issued to the goons who want to control who goes with whom instead of keeping their hands off others?
It seems still police are influenced by former state party government rather than stop these thugs from interfering in each & every incidence to create tensions in the society in the name of religion.
Which constitutional Laws prevent people talking or mingling with others based on their religious births?
Home Minister needs to give these police some guidance, put behind bars those who create trouble then these things would stop.

Yes it should be the duty of every parent to educate their children what is right or wrong, but certainly not the duty of those who are communal minded to interfere as they themselves are of criminal backgrounds.
No parent wants their children to break the norms or traditions & marry some one from outside their community or religion as marriages within are more difficult & outside are recipes for most difficult & unpredictable in modern times.
But certainly it should not be with the permission of vigilantes of either community or nobody needs their preaching or proactive actions to thwart any such situations as they are not qualified to uphold traditions as they have blessings of those who want to disturb harmony of the society with ulterior motives.

UAE allows pork and liquor to others! Talk of that!. Kashmir is having few narrow minded people like you! and the consequence is there for everyone to suffer!
