Kundapur, Jul 28: In the tragic incident which occurred on Wednesday July 27 morning at Varur on the outskirts of Hubballi-Dharwad city limits, in which a private bus moving to Hubblli from Bengaluru caught fire suddenly, a person from near the town was among the three passengers who were charred alive.

Three persons had been burnt alive in this sudden fire. Suresh Hegde (52), who hails from Merdi near Basrur in the taluk was among those who were roasted alive by flames in the said incident. As per information, Hegde was living at Shivamogga.

Suresh Hegde had in the past, been working for a hotel in Tarikere along with his brother. Thereafter he began to work as distributor for a company and also owned a hotel in Tarikere. He was living with wife, Krishnaleela, and a son who studies in PU class, at Shivamogga. On Tuesday night, he had begin his journey to Hubbali from Bengaluru by a private bus, which suddenly got engulfed by flames a little away from its final destination.

The family members who gathered information about the death and injuries of passengers of the ill-fated bus through television reports, have rushed to Hubballi to retrieve the body of Hegde. It is said that Hegde always chose to travel by the same bus, and on the basis of seat number in which he was supposed to travel, it is felt that identifying the body might not pose much problem.Yet DNA test will be done to identify the bodies, said police.

Suresh was the second among the five children of Govind Hegde and Sharada Hegde couple. Suresh's wife, Krishnaleela, is from Bannadi in Udupi taluk. Reportedly, she was a former president of Vaddarse gram panchayat.

Suresh is survived by mother, wife and two children.
