Kuwait: Oriental and Christ The King Win KCWA CUP 07

Kuwait, Nov 25: Kuwait Canara Welfare Association (KCWA) successfully held its first Volleyball and Throwball Tournament – KCWA CUP 2007 on Friday 23rd November at ICSK grounds, Salmiya from 9:30 am onwards.
In the Throwball matches held for ladies, “Christ The King” team emerged as Champions beating the “Stars” by 15-4 and 15-3. In the keenly contested Volleyball tournament for men, “Oriental Restaurant” beat “Kunjal Friends” by 25-20 & 25-19 in the finals to lift the first ever KCWA Cup.
In the Throwball individual awards were presented to Cynthia D’Souza as Best Catcher and Jayasheela D’Silva as Best All rounder. In Volleyball, Ravi Kiran won Best Defender, Samad won Best Offender and Ilyas won Best All rounder awards. Winners & Runners up were awarded with Trophies and cash prizes.
The tournament was sponsored by Mr. Elias Sanctis & Fly., Master Alger Mathias, Al-Mail Gen. Trading Co. (Mr. James Paul), Illuminations (Mr. Anand D’Souza and M&M Confectionery.
