Udupi, Jul 29: Newly appointed deputy commissioner (DC), T Venkatesh officially took charge at Rajathadri, Manipal here on Friday July 29.
Zilla panchayat CEO of the district, Priyanka Mary Francis who functioned as in-charge DC, handed over her charge.
Venkatesh is the eighteeth DC in the district.
Priyanka Mary Francis provided information on the current problems the district authorities are facing namely sand mining, deemed forest, housing plans, drinking water, endowment department and shortage of staff.
G Anuradha, additional district commissioner, Thippeswami, Brahmavar tahsildar, Kiran, Byndoor Tahsildar, Guruprasad, Udupi Tahsildar, Yogeshwar, deputy director of civil and food supply department, Prasanna, project director and others were present.
