Government spending on education is declining year by year. State is diluting welfare interventions with profit as mantra in people-centric initiatives. Sale of stake in PSU and introduction of PPP Model, a conduit to siphon public funds, is rampant. Privatization of education and mushrooming of deemed universities, especially in Healthcare System, has catastrophic effect.Total tax collection is not enough to manage day-to-day expenses of VIPs with no single penny left for social welfare in this overtaxed state. Government hospitals are abjectly leased to private lobbies on hefty fees wherein people are treated worst than laboratory rats. Whereas, son of CM is getting world class treatment at Belgium and is attended by an entourage flown from Bangalore! Seats for CET from private medical colleges are governed by "consensual agreement", a practice unheard elsewhere. PG seats in clinical and para-clinical streams are traded for crores together to accommodate incompetents and those of non-clinical streams are surrendered as mandatory seats to Government quota.

Here emerges a scenario where rank holders and efficient doctors are coming out as physiologists, anatomists and bio-chemists who may never interact with patients in their lifetime whereas the incompetents shine as "eminent" physicians, radiologists, surgeons, gynecologists, cardiologists and so on. Most of the politicians are stakeholders in this private education institutions. Government has conflict of interest to act. Note the seat surrender from private/deemed medical colleges in CET 2016 which took place during II extended round with compromised options for students. Government itself is choking the system and blocking options. Medical colleges are mushrooming and majority are not getting clearance from MCI. Dummy files are created to bring patients strength to MCI standards. In this pseudo-democracy, where welfare of society is held always at back seat, are we using our "democratic rights" wisely?......!

For ur kind information not all doctors are like that,not all students studying medical are like that,these children either get into wrong friendship or with parents money they enjoy,I ask all parents wn u send ur kids outside ur hometown pls keep contact with them constantly,come and meet them once in two months,ask their progress from the Principal and teachers.if parents doesn't do this,this is what will happen.

Rudolf, you mean to say more than 5 out of 10 specialising doctors are drunkards and killing patients. Be rational, my friend. With the few isolated incidents should not be a reason to generalise the whole doctors fraternity.

You could see people in all professions with corrupt practices and bad habits. But, medical doctor is such a name that we expect them to be thorough and perfect in their personal life too. But we are forgetting the fact that end of the day they too are human beings. So, let us be fair.

I was pointing to the drastic fall in quality of medical education with money becoming the deciding factor than anything else!

There was a recent report that a vast no of MBBS pass outs cannot even suture simple wounds or apply plaster for fractures!

Personally had two very bad experiences in 2 diff so called reputed pvt hospitals where the PGs post PGs were too dumb for their qualifications, and were treating by trial n error with little confidence!

A AGED PATIENT WITH CLEAR CASE OF UNSTABLE ANGINA ONLY WAS TREATED BY DOCS OF 5 DIFF SPECIALITIES INCLUDING A PSYCHIATRIST AND MADE TO COUGH UP A HUGE BILL, HE EXPIRED JUST AFTER DISCHARGE W/O HIS MAIN ISSUE BEING TREATED!! WOULD NOT LIKE TO GO IN FURTHER DETAIL!!

Three years back, a medical student of AJ Hospital was killed on the same Thannir Bavi road in a car accident. There was some mystery behind his death.

And, this accident also taken place on the same road. Is there any devilish or evil power causing the accidents? Sounds weirded, right?

It is sad - very sad indeed that precious lives are lost because of drunken driving. It is yet to be seen who was driving the car and how the accident occurred.

The Commissioner of Police is doing his best to control these kind of accidents. Recently they have introduced the Traffic Wardens Squad to supplement the work of the traffic police. THe City of MangaLore was a peaceful city devoid of accidents in the twenties and thirties. However with the increase in the number of vehicles, accidents are on the increase. Hope efforts of all concerned will bear results and that people will be conditioned to SAFE DRIVING... following the concept DRIVE AND DO NOT DRINK - OR DRINK AND DO NOT DRIVE.

This boy was known to be the safe driving boy and was always taking extra care to his friends and classmates. Fellow PG students themselves are in shock and not able to accept him overtaking which he was always careful about.
