Mangaluru: Man arrested for giving shelter to murder attempt accused

Mangaluru, Aug 1: Bajpe police on Sunday, July 31 arrested a man in Kalai near Bantwal who had given shelter to murder attempt accused relating to the incident that occurred recently.

Ismail (47) from Mudigere is the person arrested.

There was an attempt to murder Dharmendra and Dharmendra Poojary after waylaying them when they were coming on bike on July 16 at 8.30 pm at Urki in Edapadavu.

Ismail had given shelter to the main accused Thodar resident Araga Basheer and others despite knowing that they were the accused in the incident. Basheer and others had fled after the incident and stayed at the house of Ismail in Mudigere.

The police after obtaining information had gone there. Ismail had informed the accused about the police and he too had fled from the house. Then he had gone to his wife’s house in Kalai near Bantwal, where the police arrested him.
