Kuwait: Belwak Celebrates Family Day - Pictures

Kuwait, Nov 27: It was a family oriented pleasure excursion for the members of Belman Welfare Association at the Mishref Garden on Friday, November 23, 2007. The overcast conditions didn’t dampen the spirits; eventually it turned out to be a gorgeous day. The cool breeze ruffled the leaves as the branches of the shade trees swayed all over. President Clifford D’Souza welcomed the gathering and wished one and all an enjoyable event.

Snacks and soft drinks were served earlier in the day to energize the participants. The turnout for the picnic was significant in numbers. Conversations lingered, food was devoured and games were played. Throughout the afternoon the sound of laughter echoed in the breeze as families and friends spent quality time together.

Recreational activities for children & adults were organized by the Cultural Secretary    Mrs. Rita Rodrigues. Games such as; musical arm, dodging the ball, pebble in the spoon etc. were played. Traditional games; lagori, breaking the pot (modki putovnchi), and breaking the coconuts was entertaining to the full.

Mangalorean flavored appetizing lunch was served along with the traditional Vorn. After lunch, Joint Secretary James D’Sa, President Clifford & Anil Nazareth conducted Housie Housie. Gifts and Spot Prizes were distributed thereafter. Ms Karen D’Souza stood out as the winner of the most spot prizes. The last game of the day was the excitable Tug of War at which the youngsters were animated.





At the close, Vice President Jessie D’Cruz gave the vote of thanks. She thanked the Sponsor Mr.Vincent Andrade, spoke words of praises for the whole hearted support of committee members, who have contributed immensely to stage a fun filled picnic.

    We were a group of friends who attended the picnic as guests of Vincent Andrade. The picnic was well organized with traditional games and the crowd was very entertaining not forgetting the delicious food. Keep it up members of Belwak.
