Workers urged to comply with work safety regulations

Riyadh, Aug 2 (Arab News): The Social Security Organization launched a media and information campaign related to health and safety awareness.

Spokesman Abdullah Alabed Al-Jabaar said the organization seeks to provide a risk-free and safe work environment through making workers and employers in the private sector aware of the importance of safety methods to protect from injury.

He said employers should provide all safety means in the workplace to avoid risks and provide workers with security to give them the correct feeling of responsibility, which is reflected in the workplace and its productivity.

The branch covers all worker injuries that occur during the work process, including those that occur during transport from the residence to the workplace, and vice versa, during work-related transport, while he is on a work assignment given by the employer, and if the worker is infected with a work-related disease.

Al-Jabaar said the injury must be reported at work within seven days, which is obliged to report it to the social security office with three days.
