Bhatkal: Activists thrash cattle thief Manjayya Naik, handover to police

Bhatkal, Aug 3: Sangh Parivar activists on Wednesday August 3, manhandled a man allegedly involved in cattle trafficking and handed him over to police. They said that the man was supplying cows to the people of different community.

Shekar Manjayya Naik (24), from Puravarga in the taluk, is the person who is accused of cattle trafficking.

As per details, when Shekar Manjayya Naik was transporting a calf on Wednesday morning, they stopped the vehicle and pulled him out. Then they stripped off his shirt and thrashed him even with belts.

The activists took Shekar Manjayya in a procession to the police station. But when they reached Raghavendra Math, police came to know about this and arrived at the spot. CPI Suresh Naik, PSI Rewathi and law and order SI Kudugunt tried to pacify the activists. But the activists did not listen to the police initially. Subsequently the police managed to take Manjayya Naika from them.

A case stands registered at Bhatkal town police station and SI Revathi is investigating.

Another complaint has been lodged at the same police station regarding the alleged attempt of theft of cattle sleeping on the road. Tulasidas from Katageri has complained that people in a vehicle bearing no KA 39 /8851 came and tried to steal the cow. He also said that the vehicle was moving in high speed which was dangerous for pedestrians.

Meanwhile, Hindu Jagarana Vedike activists have sent a memorandum to deputy commissioner demanding crackdown on illegal cattle trafficking. The memorandum says that trafficking of cattle is a big hindrance for the communal harmony.

All moral rowdy stations must have cattle sheds built. A separate department for arranging fodder for cattle. Another dept should be setup for milking cows and selling it. Then there is no need for the station boards to be sponsored by AIRTEL or anybody else.

    Nanac Shetty ,

The people who let their cattle wander around deserve their cattle to be stolen. In fact cattle traffickers are doing a very good service of getting cattle off the streets. If you people disagree with me then go outside and get these wandering cattle transported to your home and start worshipping it.

Police need to arrest all the people for assaulting the ''cattle trafficker''. If they fail to do that, then they can be rightly called ''Moral Rowdies''.

''Another complaint has been lodged at the same police station regarding the alleged attempt of theft of cattle sleeping on the road.''

The police need to arrest the owner of the said cow for letting his cow wander on roads. How can the people be so stupid?

I believe that majority of so called ''cattle theft'' are of all the cattle are free roaming. The owners of such cattle are irresponsible people and should be put behind bars.

Respected Police officer Mrs. Revathiji , are you working according to the law this land or according to the direction of Sangha Pariwar.
Eventhough Mr. Naik is wrong , there is a police and law of the land to take action. Not Sangha Pariwar , that too making half naked parade in the street and beating.
You cannot control couple of goondas and you arrested Naik.
Those who beat him in the street , you left them off... no action against those who took law into their hand.
See the above photo's white T-shirt Goonda is holding his belt .
I request Police commissioner or Home Minister to intervene this matter and arrest those goondas and suspend the Police officer.
No body is above the law of this land. We are not in Bihar or UP.

Revathiji if you can't do your job better you resign and join sangha pariwar.

Then next there may be groups that say they worship chicken. So should there be ban on consumption of chicken.

Eating non-vegetarian is offensive to many in india. so should that be banned.
