Saudi bans gender-mixing at hospitals following molestation complaints

Saudi, Aug 04 (Emirates247): Saudi Arabia has decided to put a ban on gender-mixing at its hospitals and other medical centres following reports of molestation of women.

The ban will be enforced on Sunday, when inspectors from the Health Ministry will start conducting regular visits to those places to ensure compliance.

Newspapers said Crown Prince Mohammed bin Nayef issued a decision banning all forms of gender-mixing at public and private hospitals and medical centres following complaints by citizens about persistent harassment and molestation of women.

The report did not make clear whether the ban also affects doctors and other medical staff members.

Gender-mixing is already banned in most places in conservative Saudi Arabia.
