Muscat: Joining hands for community growth - Mogaveera Helpline launched

Muscat, Aug 5: Inspired by several NGOs and their great services to the society, a group of enthusiastic Mogaveeera community members with common interests recently floated an idea of creating a platform called "Mogaveera Helpline", a non-profit organization, to interact and help its community people in need and with a good deed. Hundreds of them have now voluntarily enrolled to become a part of this new venture with a heart to extend their selfless service to its community people and the member strength is simply growing day by day.

No doubt, it is written high and bold in the pages of history that the Mogaveera community people are well known for their sacrifice, courage, simplicity, sincerity and above all their unity, which they are very proud of.

Based on such moral grounds and ethics, Mogaveera Helpline is designed with a vision to stage a suitable platform pushing for sustainable growth and development of the community in various social, cultural, educational, health and livelihood programmes.

Mogaveera Helpline believes that the combined service criteria through experienced hands will inculcate a concrete base for sustainable growth, enhanced talent exposure, various developmental activities and programmes to propagate and cater in sectors like sports, education, art, music, career development, social justice, upholding community traditions and all such possible sectors concerning Mogaveera community.

Mogaveera Helpline intends to strive through and extend selfless and dedicated social service in the following core values:

By efforts of continuous learning, innovation and feedback, MH believes in a culture inherited through its traditional values that it can help in creating a true impact.


MH's initial focus of approach is defined with following objectives:

1. Community development projects
2. Awareness and advocacy
3. Civic engagement camps
4. Volunteerism
5. Mogaveera relief initiatives

A group of members had a meeting on July 24 at the Mogaveera Vyvasthapaka Mandali office in Suratkal so as to discuss and formulate its action plan and the way forward. To start with, it was decided to organize a badminton tournament on August 14. As India is celebrating its 70th Independence Day on August 15 this year, the planned badminton tournament will act as a precursor to the celebration and will attract a special place in the memory lane. The organizers are doing their best to make it a grand event.

Mogaveera Helpline is all set to organize the badminton tournament on August 14 at the US Mallya Indoor Stadium, Mangaluru. Participation is exclusively for Mogaveera community people. A token registration fee of Rs 100 for each event will be charged. Winners will receive cash prize, trophy, medals and certificates. All the participants will be awarded with medals and participation certificates.

Pramod Madhwaraj, state minister for fisheries, sports and youth affairs has conveyed his blessings and agreed to extend all his support. A number of dignitaries, sports personalities are likely to grace the occasion.
