Kasargod, Aug 5: Yasmin Ahmed Sahid (29), a resident of Patna (Bihar), who was arrested in New Delhi for suspected links with the terror outift ISIS, was brought to Karsargod by police on Friday August 5. She was produced in the Kasargod district session court with her four-year-old son and sent to three days' judicial custody.

Yasmin who was in judicial custody at Kannur Central Jail was brought to Kasargod amid tight security. The court has ordered that she be produced in the court again on August 8.

She was arrested for her suspected involvement in the missing of 17 people from Trikarpur-Padanna area and helping them go abroad.

Yasmin was arrested by a special team of Kerala police from Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi when she was about to leave the country for Kabul on July 31.

The investigating team said that she was the second suspect in the case. She is said to be the second wife of Abdul Rasheed (32), a resident of Trikarpur, who also allegedly has ISIS links and who is the prime suspect in the case of missing persons.

Yasmin had married earlier but deserted her husband. Abdul Rasheed has been missing since May this year, but was in constant touch with Yasmin in New Delhi. The investigating team was able to arrest Yasmin based on credible information.

It is said that Abdul Rasheed had helped Yasmin obtain a job in a school in Malappuram some time ago. A law banning extremist activities, UAPA is slapped on Yasmin. The investigating team will take her to Trikaripur and Malappuram to gather information. Yasmin was dealing with financial affairs of Abdul Rashid even after he went missing. The ATM card of Abdul Rashid's first wife Ayesha has been recovered from Yasmin.

Abdul Rasheed had paid the travelling expenses of Yasmin to go to Kabul by providing Ayesha's ATM card. The deposits to the bank account were made online and the amount was being withdrawn through ATM.

Police informed that Yasmin had Rs 70,000 when she was taken into custody. The investigating team has seized two passports and 620 US dollars among other things from her. She is being taken to several places in Kasargod since Friday evening amid tight security.

Media accused Zakir Naik of sympathizing with terrorists, sympathizing with the country’s enemies, inspiring terrorists by eating and living on Indian soil which are in fact true. Even some terrorists have admitted to have been inspired by him. Media had neither said he is a terrorist nor accused him of having links with terrorists.

It will be better NOT to disclose any information to media at this stage. It will lead terrorist to escape [If involved] from the plan.

They should not give photos, names, arrest place, and what plan the investigation team is taking and also where about the arrested person is.
