Puttur: Gang of 6 robbers waylay biker, police arrest all

Puttur, Aug 7: A gang of 6 highway robbers waylaid a biker to loot from him on the night of Saturday, August 6. But the alert youth managed to catch three of them while the other three fled from the place.

But later police managed to arrest the three who had fled. 

The victim is Kareem from H M Sweets in Uppinangadi who has been injured.

The incident happened at Bedrodi near here at 9 pm on Saturday. The gang of six robbers are from Bengaluru. They had lethal weapons in the vehicle.

A group of youth, who saw the robbers attacking the biker Kareem, came to rescue him and they managed to catch three robbers. 

Pradeep, Gowtham, Nagesh, Shivaram, Dinesh and Sanju Kumar are the arrested robbers. It is said that all the arrested persons are members of a professional gang and they have cases registered against them in many police stations. Uppinangadi police are interrogating them.  

Police have also seized the Toyota vehicle used by the accused.
