Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Aug 9: A criminal investigation department (CID) team reached the city and conducted inquiry into deputy superintendent of police (DySP), Ganapati's suicide. It may be recalled that Ganapati had committed suicide in a Madikeri hotel after naming former minister, K J George, and senior police officers, Pranav Mohanty and A M Prasad as his tormentors in an interview given to a local televison channel. He had said that these three would be responsible in case he dies.

A three-member CID team led by deputy inspector general of police, Sonia Narang, and superintendent of police, Kumaraswamy, held its investigation at M K Ganapati's house at Bijai New Road here from 11.30 am to 6 pm on Monday August 8.

Ganapati's wife and children were questioned for about seven hours on Monday. In all likelihood, the investigation will be resumed on Tuesday.

When media persons approached her, Sonia Narang said that all details would be made known after the conclusion of the investigation.

Final report is Ganpati suicide was due to family dispute, guilty consciousness for misusing power on helpless people and finally the curse of innocent people who were tortured by him. God has done justice. No use of human inquiry.

DIG Sonia Narang who exposed the loopholes in the Lok Ayukta should come out with the inquiry report at the earliest as the whole State is looking up to her team. The State Government should also take measures to stop politicising such suicides when an enquiry is on. This wisdom should dawn on all politicians in our State. Karnataka should be model state for governance.

With Upright Officer Sonia Narang in charge, unbiased investigation can be expected.
Without corroborating evidence to prove he was harassed unnecessarily she too cannot nail any accused.
