No reboots for Paul Feig anymore

Los Angeles, Aug 9 (IANS): After facing criticism for his new rendition of the 1984 classic film “Ghostbusters” which has a female cast, director Paul Feig says he will not reboot any more classic movies.

Feig shared his take on rebooting classic movies in an interview with Huffington Post, reports variety.com.

“No, no, no. No, I will not. This one was just too tempting because I knew we could do something with it that was exciting,” Feig said.

Feig, who has expressed his desire to helm a Bollywood musical and make a movie with Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, added that he will continue to work on original material like his successful “Bridesmaids” and his cult hit “Freaks and Geeks”.

“Ghostbusters”, featuring Melissa McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon and Chris Hemsworth, released in India on July 29.

But despite the initial criticism that “Ghostbusters” unleashed, Feig has also said that the reaction since the film's opening has been positive overall.

“It's such a validation for the years of false controversy,” Feig said.
