Haradi school transfer issue- minister's promise to student not kept

Daijiworld Media Network - Puttur (SP)

Puttur, Aug 11: Haradi school had been in the news recently after education minister, Tanveer Sait, in response to cellphone message sent to home minister by Divit U Rai, an eighth standard student of the school, had stayed the exercise of identification of excess teachers and transferring them elsewhere. This prompt action had been hailed by the media as a quick response to the just demand made by a student.

However, the block education officer here has since issued written instructions to the headmaster of Haradi school, to relieve four teachers of the school on transfer and send compliance report to him forthwith. Teachers, Shubhalata, Yashoda, Lilly D'Souza and Vijaya have been transferred to schools chosen by them during the re-counselling held on August 5. The home minister had, on July 19, promised Divit that these four teachers would be retained in the school.

It is said that after the orders were received, Divit called personal assistant to home minister, who promised that the teachers will be retained although transfer orders have been issued. Divit received message on his phone from the home minister on Wednesday evening, saying that he had spoken to the minister concerned and advising him not to lose hope.

Block education officer here, Shashidhar, said that like all other schools, teachers of which had taken part in the re-counselling including Haradi school have been issued transfer orders routinely.

Transfer them. Follow the 3 years transfer process for better results. It looks like it is instigated by teachers to stop transfers.
