Ahmedabad industrialist, Billava leader Bhakthavatsala Bontra passes away

Ahmadabad, Aug 11: Bhakthavatsala R Bontra, former president of Ahmedabad Karnataka Sangha passed away on Thursday, August 1.

Bhakthavatsala Bontra was 78. He is survived by wife Maya Bhakthavatsala, son Venugopal Bontra, daughter Meera Sumanlal and son-in-law Sumanlal Kodialbail.  

Bontra hailed from Kairottu in Karkala.  He was a known industrialist and lived most of his life in Ahmedabad. He was also the founder honourary president of Ahmedabad Karnataka Sangha.

Several prominent people and Billava leaders from Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Mangaluru have offered condolences to the grieving family of Bontra.
