Dubai, Dec 1: Cascia boy Vincent Fernandes has created a niche for himself in Konkani music arena. With his own efforts and without any godfather he struggled to establish his name in the music world initially. Owing to his professional commitments he might not have organized many more musical nites, but five Konkani music albums speak about his place in Konkani music.

“Music brings smile on someone's face, music takes away all the sorrows", says Vincent Fernandes, as he sits on a couch and remembers his early days in this Konkani music world. Konkani is a widely spoken language by the Catholics of coastal Karnataka and the Goans. There are a very few artists who have made carved a niche for themselves in this field. Wilfy Rebimbus, who is also known as the father of Mangalorean Konkani music, during the release of Vincent's fourth album, said that Vincent has the best tunes and melody for his songs. Probably that is true. That is the reason why most of Vincent's songs are very popular among the Konkani music lovers. His “Mogha Munn Apoitolom", has been the super hit song ever since it was released.

Vincent has so far released four albums. His first album was released in 1997. He became the household name with his melodious tunes. Aparna mayekar, Roney D’Cunha, Ivan Noronha rendered their voice for this album. “Kuswar, Ashethalin, Lavina, Komble" are the few songs which are widely remembered.

He later released three more albums in the gulf. Looking at his love for the language it's really commendable to release three albums in the gulf.  “Consatnt encouragement from the friends and the family" is the reason for all these ventures says Vincent. " Bhogna, Ani Maka, Radha, Reyona, Laran are a few songs that have become integral part of all the konkani functions.

Vincent has always been successful in bringing, encouraging and introducing new talents to the konkani music.  Uttam Menezes, Dony Correa, Asha Correa, Dinesh Correa, Asha Fernandes etc have been a few talents who were introduced by Vincent through his music albums.

Now Vincent is all set to release his fifth album that has 12 melodious tracks sung by veteran singers such as Claud D'Souza, Roney D'Cunha, Rathan Castelinho, Prakash Mahadevan, Anitha Samson, Vijay Vaz and new comers such as Wilma and Shereen Walder.

The fifth album will be released in Cascia on December 23, 2007 during Vincent's musical nite. Jacintha Fernandes, who is also a melodious singer, has rendered her talents as well. Talented Roshan D'Souza has composed and arranged the music for this album.

Vincent always changes his musicians for changing the style. Roshan is well-known musician from Anjelore and he has already made his own identity in the musical world.

Born in Mangalore, Vincent left for the gulf in search of better prospect in 1991. He has served in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Dubai. He is married for the past 14 years with Jacintha and has a child Brian.

We all wish Vincent Fernandes all that is best for the new album and may he cherish all the good things in life.
