Media Release

Mangaluru, Aug 13: To develop different skills among students, Vikas PU College on Friday May 12 inaugurated twelve clubs, namely music, dance, art and craft, eco, yoga, computer and electronics, magic, drama, zumba, literary, spiritual and movie clubs.

The chief guest Sharad Nihari Dasa, public relations leader of Akshaya Patra Foundation in his address to the students recollected a story which enlightened the students. "We find a few clubs existing in some of the colleges but in this college various clubs have been inaugurated. Through clubs you will not waste time but will gain energy and spend qualitative time on honing your skills. Involving yourselves in clubs improves physique and sharpens your mind," he said.

Student activities are aimed at achieving a pluralistic community and assisting the student body in developing rational, critical and creative capabilities. More specifically, student activities seek to engage students in active learning, to assist them in establishing a meaningful value system and ethical standards, and to set high expectations for each student.

"By offering effective programmes and participation in all college venues and by encouraging and supporting activities that include athletics, recreation, student clubs and organizations, performing arts provides opportunities for students to achieve a better understanding and appreciation not only of their culture, but also of the cultures of others. This fosters educational collaborations throughout the college and builds supportive and inclusive communities. Students and parents supportiveness is very essential to lead our institution," said Krishna J Palemar, the chairman of Vikas PU College and ex-minister.
