Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (DV)

Mangaluru, Aug 13: BJP national president Amit Shah will visit Mangaluru on August 21 and take part in various programmes as part of BJP's nation-wide 'Tiranga Yatra' campaign, informed BJP Dakshina Kannada district president Sanjeeva Matandoor.

Addressing a press meet at the BJP office here, Matandoor said, "Amit Shah will be arriving in the city on August 21 as part of BJP's 'Tiranga Yatra' campaign. He will inaugurate a bike rally at Pumpwell, organized by the BJP Yuva Morcha north and south units.

"He will then proceed to Ullal where he will garland the statue of Rani Abbakka to commemorate the sacrifice of our freedom fighters. Thereafter, he will address a programme at Konaje, in which state BJP president B S Yeddyurappa and union minister D V Sadananda Gowda wil also take part," he said.

"The same day in all assembly constituencies, the Raita Morcha will plant saplings. Even though this programme is being organized by the BJP, the party flags will not be displayed.

"To mark the 70th Independence Day in a unique way, as per the direction of PM Narendra Modi, BJP DK is observing Tiranga Yatra to evoke nationalism and patriotism among citizens. This campaign started on August 9 and will go on till August 23 across the entire country

"On August 15, the Tricolour will be hoisted at the BJP district quarters and at around 3 pm, union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy will come to Mangaluru to attend the 70th Independence Day programme at T V Ramana Pai hall," he said.

"The same evening, in all assembly constituencies BJP Yuva Morcha will hold a torchlight march. Also, BJP will hold 'Khadi Tabbikolli' to promote the Khadi industry. On August 18, BJP Mahila Morcha will organize a Rakshan Bandhan programme," Matandoor informed.

He also said that from August 16 to August 23 there will be bike rallies in all assembly constituencies.

Umanath Kotian and Capt Brijesh Chowta were present.

We got independence on the night between 14th and 15th August at 12.01am. and not at 3 pm. These patriots will be in deep slumber at night and they cant even get up early in the morning to Celebrate independence day, due to hangover of previous night's drink...!!!! Hence the celebration is at 3 P.M

For BJP this Tiragna Yatra is meant only of Freedom Fighter of their Community. Freedom fighters of other Religion are hardly in their list. They want to project only their community fought for the freedom of India.

Only God knows the true Freedom fighters of our country as history is trying to be cunningly manipulated. Those who were never part of Freedom movement are also been added and projected into Freedom fighters list.

Only God knows who are truly Freedom Fighters of our country.

Patriotism is not learnt by hoisting flags or yathras. Earlier yathras by the BJP has resulted in a communal divide. The State Government should not hesitate to prosecute or debar people from carrying out yatras which have a malafide political intent and are harmful to peace and harmony of the State. We should learn from leaders like Laloo who has a 57" chest and did not hesitate to prosecute leaders however great they are.
