Udupi : Three police teams get busy on Bhaskar Shetty murder trail

Udupi, Aug 14 : In just a couple of days after taking charge as Udupi district superintend of police, K T Balakrishna has formed three special teams to find the culprits in the sensational Bhaskar Shetty murder case.

It is learnt that one team is busy interrogating the accused in police custody, the second team is working closely with the forensic department one available proofs including the pieces of bones found in Palli river, clothes belonging to Rajeshwari Shetty and Niranjan Bhat found in the laundry as well as 'homa' related materials found in Nandalike Srinivas Bhat's house. The third team is now working with DNA experts who have arrived from Bengaluru.

Meantime, the SP has appealed to the media and the public that they should not misguide others with rumours and false allegations against the police. "Police have so far done a good job in the investigation, there is no room for lapse in the enquiry. Everything has been handled professionally by the police with honesty and integrity. Despite several hurdles in the case, police have done a fair job so far. It is unfortunate that despite the good work, people talk ill about police," he said.

He once again defended the alleged laxity shown by the police in taking the murder accused to the hotel for lunch. "Why cannot people appreciate the fact that the police had worked non-stop until 4 pm that day without having lunch? Where should the police have taken them for lunch other than a hotel along the road? People see only the accused in the hotel, why can't they see the police in civil dress in the hotel? These lose talks disappoints us," he lamented.

In the meantime, the SP visited Niranjan's house in Nandalike to further investigate the case.

    I can sense that Bhaskar Shetty is still alive . His wife and son are just watching the developments after confessing the murder of Bhaskar Shetty. Based on the developments or after studying the developments, they might bring Bhaskar Shetty either alive or might murder him later.

    Three teams? First time three teams doing one such case, were those arrested committed that they have killed him and burnt his body. If body is fully burnt, obviously they will not find body neither ashes, as they dissolved in water. Three plus two separate statements recorded, voluntarily confirmed that they killed him, is not sufficient? may be not sufficient to liers. There are various tests which will confirm the truth in their oral confirmation.

    People,

    What Police investigation so far is very funny...few days back they were looking for bones in Kalkar river...yesterday Police were looking for bones in Kadandale...18 KMs from first place...They have completely dug Bhat's 'Homa Kunda'...it looks like a ploughed field now...

    All suspects and 2 innocents are in Police Custody...What does it say? Police know what happened??

    Humanity is the first priority that the police should give to the accused one. . They are just accused and nothing proved yet. . But if they have done the crime definitely all the accused people should get punished. . Always there is a law behind any crime. .
    Let us see whats the proceedings.But what makes it interesting is, the terrifying story for the intelligent Udupi people. . Lets see whats the out come.. I feel shame if the culprits are not punished in the court of law. . Rather I don't have any faith in law as it is concerned. . .

    Sir, First respect sentiments of general public and mother of Mr Shetty before supporting your own department. Do you know ? Since July 28, 2016, they have not cooked food by anticipating that her son is alive and hoping for get back. Now you are saying police were missed lunch by 3 Hours !!! No mother should face this type of condition where they couldn't perform ritual of her son due to unavailability of proof of death. For that, Udupi/Manipal Police is responsible.

    Karodpathi Rajeshwari is not a fool to give her blood stained cloths to laundry at Palli for wash.

    If you go to an ordinary Hotel no body will speak, its a Bar And Restaurant, Secondly SP is saying they have been handling case honestly...no..one Inspector failed in this case..grill him along with Asranaa(Criminal), Rajeshwari and Chicken Tandoor(culprit son)........now only its coming to track due to lot of pressue...Give justice to Amma...God will take care all of you...put all criminals behind the Bar and crush them,,,,,better to bring Annamalai immediately for this case handling purpose...

    Many questions need to be answered?
    There has been definitely a delay in action from the part of police. Days have elapsed before a proper enquiry was done Result many vital clues lost. Many evidences destroyed. I feel its good that new officers will do a better job, But sometimes everyone feels here that there is a delay and little bit apathy from police initially Lastly no need for lunch at Bar and Restaurant, If police thinks they are only one who skip a meall during work police haven't understood the reality Many people skip lunch during work. Ordinary people like Bus drivers Rickshaw drivers etc also do miss lunch , DOnt make a big issue of missing lunch

    I don't under stand why no hand cuffs for the accused. Both the criminals who are killed a strong person like Bhaskar shetty very strong & healthy they can try to escape from the police custody. Police put hand cuffs even to pickpocket criminals also after all these two are murderers. So put hand cuffs when ever the police taking them out from the jail. Let them walk with hand cuffs in their hand from Manipal jail to udupi court . Charbi Onthey jappad.

    With one instance we can understood how police defending their colleagues for having lunch with criminals instead of apologize for their mistake. Cant they starve for few hours or arrange some alternatives instead of having lunch in posh hotel.Of course police action will be doubted in many case.

    if sitting on fence is good as you say, then arrangements have to be made to hang them on fence like dry fish, in other incidents too. here there is need of protests as police are hand in glove with murderers and there is no trace of duplicate patriots who jump into action when seeing people of 2 different communities.

    4 things need to be ascertained
    1. Proof of Murder have occurred
    2. Weapon used
    3.Who committed ?
    4. Motive of Murder
    Unless these 4 things are found no person in Udupi-Mangalore will be at peace .

    Cases like this no need to go to hotel for lunch... there are so many take away foods available .. police should have been planed all well in advance.... it is clear failure from Udupi police department so far.. why cant police put his son / wife under bar and ask them the truth until they say ........ I believe in india underworld is stronger than police and we get justice quicker

    just 8 months ago i spoke to a police inspector (in udupi district) regarding a false case, either to submit charge sheet or submit b form and he was harassing the accused (in fact victims) by asking 1,50,000. I called Madam, Sumana (dysp karkala) and she promised stern action, nothing happened.So i emailed about the matter to the then SP annamalai, no reply. I called him nearly 20 times no answer, one fine day he answered the call and while i was talking for more than 2 to 3 minutes he simply disconnected the call by asking to talk to the police inspector. That day itself i realized there was big drama going on behind the seen and the officer who asked money was safe.

    by my past experience what i feel is nobody can do anything to Mr. Girish as he has internal support, so strong, that they are defended by their bosses, for they know the weakness of their bosses.

    Why till date police have not given third degree treatment to accused for obtaining more evidence ? Since last 8 days these people were silent. Now due to public interference suddenly police department woke up. Give third degree treatment to all three. Truth will come out automatically. All three were confessed. Now police department duty to collect proper evidence to strengthen the case. Then only justice will be provided to bereaved mother and family.

    Its true, what SP ji is saying. Sometime due to the heat of moment people only see the suspects. But one thing i dont understand (from various other photos not hotel as they have to eat food). Why aren't the suspects handcuffed? Even a petty criminal is made to sit with 10 officers in back ground for a picture with handcuffs. In this such serious case why aren't they handcuffed ?
