Shivamogga: Revenue minister Kagodu Thimmappa collapses on stage

Shivamogga, Aug 15: Revenue minister Kagodu Thimmappa, who is also the district in-charge minister of Shivamogga, collapsed on stage while delivering the Independence Day speech here on Monday August 15.

Thimmappa hoisted the Tricolour as part of the celebrations and then addressed the gathering. But about 15 minutes into the speech, he felt uneasy and collapsed.

He was rushed to Sahyadri Narayana Hrudalaya hospital and admitted.

Sources said that Thimmappa took ill due to sudden fluctuations in blood pressure.

Hospital sources said that he is out of danger and stable.

    Whatever their ability, capability, experience etc. these old bandicoots take retirements from politics and take rest spending their time with their family instead of falling/collapsing, sleeping while meeting is going on etc. Let them give chance/opportunity to the youngsters.

    Your advise sounds good.Had it been observed even Sonia would not have got fractured by falling recently at Varanasi during her party rally...!
    Unnecessary hospitalisation could have avoided....!

    My prayer is for the speedy recovery of the minister.But it really irritating to note some of the above rubbish comments by some people about the age of the politician/person.According to me age is not the criteria.As long as he or she is physically fit and healthy without any health threatening diseases and mentally fit there is no harm in working as PM,President,any other works including coolly job.There are instances people are working beyond their expected ages.On the contrary young people are not working to their optimum capacity.But people's efficiency,working condition,collapsing,getting sick all of a sudden cannot be judged by their age.Even young people can fall sick at any time without out knowledge.We cannot predict that.When,why,where,these are all in the hands of God.These are all inbuilt qualities,conditions of human being.

    FOR A MINUTE I AGREE WITH YOUR IDEA THEN HOW ABOUT WORKING CLASS AGE LIMIT WHY NOT FOR THE POLITICIANS !

    ONE CANT ADMIT IN LKG WHO AGED AROUND 10 YEARS OLD THE SIMILAR THEORY APPLY IN EVERY PROFESSION

    COMING TO FITNESS AFTER 40 EVERY AILMENT STARTS IN THE BODY OF HUMAN BEING

    There r a lot of Government & other staff who r capable of working even after 60 years of age, than why there is rule for them to retire by attaining the age limit of 60 years? Your theory may work in a County[Continent] like Australia, as their population is about 24 millions, whereas in Bangalore itself we have about 10 million people. Do U expect politicians to continue in politics for ever? If so how can we give chance for our younger generation? How we can solve our unemployment problems? I feel very sad when I see some of our politicians who r on wheel chairs etc. & even above 80 years of age still want to continue in Politics! Not to forget that some of these old politicians have amazed huge wealth & still they r very greedy & wants to continue in politics!

    Boss, it's not whether they are capable or not after that age. It's a rule and regulation which expects these senior citizens to wind up their positions and open it for newer generation or who ever is eligible for that. It's just the thrust for money making all these old people to stick to their seats. If the governance is given to some younger and dynamic generation, I am sure there could be a tremendous change in our country. There are some stupid characters in our politics who spend more days in hospital or medical treatment than the days they are expected to serve the people who voted for them. But yes, may be ultimate blame is to be taken by we the public for electing them while election, right Peddu and Jacob, what do you say.

    Get well soon dear minister. Time has come for a comprehensive changes in changes Indian Political system that 60 yrs must be for retirement in politics and appointments must be from UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) on merit basis on any governing parties in India per competitive test. Changes are inevitable and must.

I am very sorry to say this "people who completed 60 years (including Indian president) Pls go home and enjoy rest of your age with your grand children, Don't waste public money by rubbing your ass to the govt. chairs until your death

    Age limit for retirement for all our politicians must be 60 years. If some one has forgotten any names, please add all of their names. It doesn't matter whether these aged people r corrupt or not. We need a change & our youngsters should get a chance to enter politics.
