Coorg, Aug 22: Villagers of Honavalli near Somwarpet shouted slogans against the people's representatives and the government with regard to the damaged road here on Sunday August 21.

“The road passing from Honavalli grama to Ambedkar Nagara, Honnamana Kere has several potholes and it is difficult to travel on the road in the monsoons,” alleged the villagers. “Agricultural produce has to
be ferried on this road. Vehicles get spoilt if run on the road for a year. The road was tarred ten years ago,” said Honavalli rural development board president H P Chandrashekar. “The concerned officials
have cheated the farmers by not repairing the road for the last ten years. Farmers are paying taxes. The road should be maintained utilizing tax money. If repairs are not undertaken within a week, we will be protesting by blocking vehicles going for Honnamma lake festival in Doddamalthe via Sulimalthe grama road, warned village leaders S K Sudeep, H E Puttaswamy and S P Lingaraj. Village leaders N P Puttaraj,
Girish and others were present.
