Mysuru: Threat to DC - Marigowda gets conditional bail

Mysuru, Aug 26: Former zilla panchayat president, K Marigowda, who was arrested for posing threat to the then deputy commissioner (DC) of the district, C Shikha and obstructing her from discharging her duties, was granted conditional bail by the additional district and sessions court here on Thursday August 25. His associate, Manjunath was also granted bail.

Marigowda was granted bail by the judge, Chandrashekhar, against furnishing of personal bond for one lac rupees, and surety from two government employees. Manjunath was asked to furnish a personal bond for Rs 75,000 and surety from two government employees. Both have been instructed to visit Nazarbad police station every day and sign the attendance register there. They have also been ordered not to pose threat to witnesses and complainant, and not to destroy evidences.

Marigowda, who had approached Shikha at the government guest house here on July 3, had reportedly castigated her and posed her threats. Shikha had filed a complaint at Nazarbad police station. Marigowda had gone underground and had tried to get anticipatory bail through the lower court and then through the high court. After his efforts failed, he had surrendered at Nazarbad police station.
