Mangaluru: 'A day out in Mangaluru' investors' meet to be held in Bengaluru-Lobo

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (JS)

Mangaluru, Aug 26: "'A day out in Mangaluru', investors’ meet will be organized in Bengaluru," announced Mangaluru south MLA, J R Lobo in his address to media persons.

Addressing media persons at a press meet held here at district Congress office on Friday August 26, Lobo said, "Due to lack of job opportunities in the city, youngsters from our city are migrating to cities like Bengaluru, Mumbai in India and some also go abroad. I feel this is not a good development. Youngsters are the future of our city. So in order to generate employment in the city, we have planned to hold a day's seminar in Bengaluru so that more investors may invest in this region."

Commenting on the job opportunities here he said, "We had previously conducted an investors' meet in the city, but did not get a good response due to a variety of reasons. Mangaluru is diverse and is a unique city in the entire country with high potential and basic infrastructure. The city has best connectivity with airport, railway station and port. Despite all the basic infrastructure and facilities in the region, job opportunities are less."

"I have already held government level talks. The government has agreed to hold this seminar. The reason for this seminar being organized at Bengaluru is for more number of investors to participate as it is convenient to attend. Once the investors attend, we will explain to them the potential of Mangaluru which will create curiosity to invest in this region. We will also give a brief summary about the region and why they should invest. We will provide all the support from our side," Lobo explained.

"The investors meet will require a lot of preparation. The seminar will be organized within the next six months. My objective is to bring more and more investors to Mangaluru and the district so that youngsters of this region can get good job opportunities and so need not find the need to migrate to other cities," he disclosed.

My vision is that Mangalore should develop as as knowledge /arts/cultural center for India/Asia which ties into Tourism( because of the ocean /green landscape, educational institutions). How about developing film studios,asian/international music/ dance/ food/art festivals.

Mallus who speak less less Hindi and English write exams and give interviews for technical and not technical jobs including state and central boards. They have patience and wait for 5 to 10 years till they get the Govt. Job. once they get a call they even leave their Job in gulf and join Govt. services in India which is more secured.

Press conference become fashion for COngi leaders. Mr.Janardhan Pujari is the best example & other follow his practice.

If you are really worried then first removed all Mallu's in Mangalore Railway station Office if you have really power.

It really become nonsense, we Tulu people have to talk in Malayalam to get a Train Ticket in Mangalore railway counter.

Some people may justify by saying Central government recruitment but how many Mangaloreans are working in Kerala state Railway stations?

They won't allow others to work there.

Even Mangalore Railway station Coolies, Canteen staff etc filled with Mallus???

Another 15 years years half of the Mangalore will filled with Mallus, I am sure.
