Mangaluru: Vikas PU College hosts 'Panchsow Ka Josh' competition

Mangaluru, Aug 27: “Life should be dedicated to serving others. This is possible only through a positive approach. One should avoid negative thoughts which will bounce back and have adverse effects on health. Allow your inner spirit of joy to nourish and not to perish,” said chief guest Padma Prasad Hegde, senior advocate and chairman of Karnataka Bar association. He was addressing the aspirants of Panchsow (Rs 500) Ka Josh competition hosted by Vikas PU College on Saturday August 27.

Correspondent Raja Ram Rao T, Dr Ananth Prabhu, director of Vikas Edu Solutions, Mohana R, vice principal, Ayshwarya Rao, co-ordinator of the event were present.


Creating a livelihood for the youth of today and tomorrow through job creation or self-employment is the critical need of the hour. Keeping this theme in mind, Vikas College has tried to inspire the confidence in tomorrow’s youth to enhance their potential through a unique programme - ‘500 Ka Josh’. A seed fund of Rs 500 was given to each team and each school was given the liberty of enrolling a maximum of 10 teams. All these teams were expected to develop innovative, aesthetically brilliant and creative models which will benefit society and implement the same in the near future.

Winners of this event were awarded cash prizes of Rs 10,000 for 3 categories. They were:

Chiranth PT and Anvith A Hebbar from Sharada Vidyaniketan, Talapady for best business/ commercial model.

Rahul M, Sela Roshni Shri and Melita Carista Valder from Delhi Public Model for best innovative science model.

Damodhar Prabhu, Chaitra Shet and Sharvari Navada from Canara High School Urva for aesthetically brilliant model.

Karthikeya, Rajath Rao K N and Anagha S from Sharada Vidyalaya Kodialbail for jury’s award of Rs 5,000.

Veena Gangolli was the master of ceremony and Jazeela proposed the vote of thanks.
