Udupi: Excise officials raid Country Inn Hotel for sale of illegal liquor

Udupi, Aug 28: Excise officials here raided Country Inn Hotel situated in the building owned by former MLA Raghupathi Bhat on the night of Saturday, Aug 27 and found illegal sale of liquor there.

They have registered a case.

The raid was led by excise inspector Jyothi under directions from district excise superintendent K S Murali under guidance from excise deputy superintendent K Vinod Kumar

    I am waiting to see any excise official raiding any wine shop for serving liquor to patrons. As per license conditions they can only sell and not serve.

    May be not paid as per demand!! Otherwise why such popular place in Udupi / Manipal is raided!! Hotel is great!! Ambiance is fantastic!!! If they really wish...they can raid 100 such places in Udupi district daily!! This news could be due to some panga!!! I heard this place is great!! Still Babus may need free food, drink and take away...I mean cash too probably!!

    Raghupati Bhat will conveniently put the blame on Manager of the hotel. Bhat is well experienced in more complex criminal cases. This case is a small irritant for him.

    Except Bakila Hukrappa ex MLA from Sullia most of the other BJP MLAs/ex MLAs made considerable amount of wealth.

    The Congress MLAs who did not make money are below

    1)Vasantha Bangera(no corruptions) Born poor plus remained so for the last 40-50 years as MLA and politician
    2)Ramanath Rai who born rich still remained so with any corruptions.
    3)Abaya Chandra ...Born rich (no corruptions)

    the list continues even UTK/Puttur MLA....are non corrupt and doing services best of their ability..

    I did only DK reference.If we take state reference BSY/REDDYs/CITYRAvi etc etc.......Ragupathi Bhat an average 5-6 years back now has....!!!
