Bantwal, Aug 29: A youth who had fallen down on the road and sustained serious injuries to his head during Mosaru Kudike festival competition on Sunday, died without responding to medical treatment on Monday, Aug 29.

The deceased is identified as Pilatabettu grama Daikinakatte resident Shishir (22).

Details of the incident

Several teams were invited to participate in the Govinda competition held in Belthangady on August 28 in view of Mosaru Kudike. Ramanjaneya team in Ramanagara near Punjalkatte also had participated in it. Shishir, who was in the team, had climbed human pyramid and after holding the rope at the top had broken several pots. He slipped and fell down on the road when he was about to break the last pot. Other members tried to prevent his fall but he had fallen by then and seriously injured his head. He was immediately rushed to private hospital in Mangaluru but he died without responding to treatment after a day.

Shishir was a talented artiste and had excelled in the art of mimicry since his childhood. He had secured first prize in mimicry in state level competition. He was ahead in acting in dramas during his college days. He was a member of RSS, ABVP and Ramanjaneya Bhajana group.

Shishir was the elder son of printing press employee P M Prabhakar and was expected to be the pillar in the family. He had started working in Bengaluru six months ago after passing B Com. He had returned home only on Sunday morning but fate had something else in store for him.

RIP Shishir. We pray to God to give the strength to his family to bear this irreparable loss.
Our Supreme Court had issued orders recently restricting small children in climbing and height limit to 18 feet. But some of our great fanatic groups including a political party called Shiv Sena challenged the order by saying that order does not applicable to us. And our respected Supreme Court kept quiet and didn't take any action for this contempt of court order against these people. Such kind of spineless legal system we have in our great nation. Now can these so called groups or parties bring back this sole bread winner of the family to life ? No. For them culture, tradition has more value than a human life. These so called guardians of culture and tradition will sit and instigate such youngsters to carry out acts which either spoil their life/future or take their lives. This is our India where there is no respect for judiciary or value for human life. Whom should we say shame on you, to the people who organize such unsafe events at the cost of ones life and by going against the Supreme Court Order or to the Supreme Court for being mum against these people who went against their Orders. Wah India and Indians for . Shall I say Mera Bharat Mahan....

What is the need of such an event which involves risk to human beings?.Organizers will wash their hands always blaming others for the mishap. At least some precautions have to be taken to prevent such loss of valuable lives. May his soul rest in peace.

In olden days all communities used to get together and celebrate Mosaru Kudike. But now a days entire Mosaru Kudike in coastal area has been hijacked by Saffron Brigades of Sanghis who organize such Mosaru Kudike by luring gullible youths, and hence they are responsible for such accidents.

This type of sport or adventure involves risk. Why it was done on the tar roads. Youngsters can have fun and sporting sprit but let them exercise some safety or extra care to avoid injuries in case of failed attempts.

When SC recently restricted the height of pillars to 20 feet for safety reasons, several hindu organisations openly challenged that order and said they will violate it!. Very good, but now will these organisations take responsibility for Shishir's death!?

RIP! Very reckless decision of Shishir to climb the human pyramid , if I am reading correctly he reached home Sunday morning from Bangalore and participated on the same day, I am sure his body was not ready/tired because of the night journey. Moreover he fell on the road from that height is impossible to save anyone without proper safety measures. Imagine you sometimes can’t save a person on two wheeler accidents without helmet and how is this possible? Very sad!

I see that most of the hundi are unorganized to the core. they are just enthusiastic crowd with no training. they have no clue what to do in an emergency. no ambulance. authorities should not allow such show unless the organizers have enough precautions in place.
