Mangaluru, Aug 29: The vice-president of Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat (DKZP) Kastoori Panja inaugurated the newly built building of DKZP Pre-University College (high school division) in DKZP School premises at Bokkapatna on Monday August 29.

In the inaugural address, she said, “Without a proper aim and a teacher, the education received is of no use. If the students trust their teacher, no aim is beyond anyone’s reach. The students after completing their education must not forget their teachers. Along with this they must not also forget their institution.”

Speaking on the occasion the president of Mangaluru Taluk Panchayat, Mohammed Monu said, “Today we have come to a situation where teachers are assaulted by students. This must not be a model for us. Teachers are like the living gods. They give their best for their disciples. They impart education and upliftment society. Hence they must be respected.”

While rendering her presidential address the corporator of the Bokkapatna ward Jayanthi Achar said, “I have seen teachers appeal for the funds with the donors due to the delay in release of government funds for the school building. Even though they are sacrificing their teaching time for this, the concerned departments have been delaying it with deaf ears. The concerned should not only release the funds on time but also increase the amounts.”

The new building has been built under the Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan under the aegis of Dakshina Kannada Zila Panchayat grants.
